Cr2 records was set up in July 2004 by former Credence head honcho & one half of MYNC Project Mark Brown. In only a year Cr2 has managed to muscle its way to the top of the hugely competitive house music market by releasing consistently high quality house music. With releases from the likes of Eric Prydz & S teve Angello, 100% & Danny Howells all going into the UK top 40 singles chart, it's easy to see why Cr2 has forged a reputation as being one of the best independent house labels in the world, and one of the only labels with the ability to challenge the majors!
Other outstanding releases on the label have come from the likes of Skylark, Anthony Acid, Lee Cabrera & Exhibit A. All have been massive in clubland over the last year, with the label receiving support from virtually DJ under the sun: from Sasha, Pete Tong, Nick Fanciulli, Roger Sanchez, Paul Woolford, Hernan Cattaneo, Erick Morillo & many more!
The future looks bright for Cr2 with the huge releases about to drop in the form of Steve Smith & Steve Smith - 'Loving You More' (Pete Tong Essential New Tune) which has been one of the anthems of Ibiza this year. Danny Howells & Dick Trevor's Renaissance classic 'Breathe' with all new mixes from hot young artists James Talk & Cella Dwellers. As well as one of underground house music s biggest tunes Bush II Bush 'The Piano Track.
On top of that Cr2 are jumping into the compilation market with the release of 'United Nations Of House'. It's a unique concept whereby tracks from well-known artists from around the world such as Danny Howells, Skylark, Tiefschwarz and Sander Klienenberg sit alongside tracks from virtual unknowns from around the world. In total 17 countries are represented, with tracks coming from as far afield as Israel, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and Albania, as well as more established countries on the house music map like the UK, Holland, Gemany, USA, Italy and many more.
In total there are 4 staff at CR2, Marks Brown (One half of MYNC Project), Nick Corelli (The other half of the MYNC Project), Spencer Parker (Former A&R at AM:PM & Defected) & Nick Liousias (Former A&R at Silver Planet). All are diamond geezers :)
