DTPM is synonymous with Sunday clubbing. But back in the spring of '93 it was all very different.
Like the venues that have been home to DT, the club has grown and expanded to meet the demand from London's
discerning clubbers. From the unassuming basement restaurant, Villa Stefano in Holborn, to Bar Rhumba on Shaftesbury
Avenue & then onto the groundbreaking 'The End' and the team finally settled in the uber-conceptual fabric in
Farringdon. This represented a new challenge for DTPM, with three dance floors, a sunken chill-out bar & an even
larger capacity; DTPM re-launched & hit a new plateau. Rave reviews followed and as we settled into our new home,
DTPM has strengthened its name further, with her clientele expecting "Nothing but the best" in today's
clubbing environment.
DTPM has received wide acclaim from all music and fashion press, and were nominated for the "Best Gay Club"
award for 1999 by "Brit Pop TV". We were also nominated for "Best Club Night" at The Bacardi London Club & Bar
Awards 2001.
THE PEOPLE - THE FAMILY
"A polysexual nite with something for everyone" is how DTPM has been described. The crowd ranges from 'new kids on the
block' to 'the seasoned clubber', a mixed gay-friendly crowd of fashionable people who are serious about their music and
expect excellence from a night out. Our hard core of customers are very loyal and come back regularly to see us and receive a
warm greeting from our long-standing staff and the promoters, who take a genuine and personal interest in the club. A
family has been created and this is a large contributing factor, which has helped to sustain the success of DTPM.
DTPM has, over the years, also attracted people who are involved on the club scene itself, including high profile DJ's
such as Danny Tenaglia, Danny Rampling, DJ Disciple, Pete Wardman, Fat Tony & Boy George.
We have also attracted many celebrities during our time. Fashion designers, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen,
Patrick Cox, Valentino, Rifat Ozbeck; TV personalities, Chris Evans, Dani Behr; Melinda Messenger; Recording
artists, Grace Jones, Natalie Imbruglia, The Pet Shop Boys, Courtney Love, Robbie Williams, Sybil, Angie Brown,
Jason Orange - the list goes on.
THE MUSIC
Over the years, the music has obviously had to evolve and has helped to shape the direction of music in the UK with our
DJ/Producers able to test out their new sounds on the dance floor direct from the recording studio. The music has always
been of the "House influence" whether it be Vocal House, Deep House, Progressive, UK or American. Stay on Dance Floor One
and get into the deep 'n funky house vibe. Move to Dance Floor Two and 'kick it' to tribal beats. Or move up to Three
and indulge in R+B, Hip Hop and Nu-Soul. The custom designed visuals from "Shark" will stimulate your senses and
enhance the experience.
A natural progression saw the launch of our own record label DTPM RECORDINGS in September 2002.
